Power BI Business Intelligence Reporting Solution
Built an enterprise-style Business Intelligence solution in Microsoft Power BI by transforming 23 raw operational tables into a scalable semantic model and interactive executive dashboards. The solution centralizes business logic, delivers reusable KPIs, and enables data-driven decision-making across multiple business functions.
Project Objective
Develop a scalable Business Intelligence solution that converts operational data into a centralized semantic model and executive dashboards, enabling consistent KPI reporting, business analysis, and faster decision-making across the organization.
Business Problem
Operational data was distributed across multiple business systems, making reporting inconsistent, repetitive, and difficult to maintain. The objective was to create a single source of truth that standardizes business logic, improves reporting accuracy, and supports enterprise-scale analytics.
Solution
- Analyzed 23 operational tables to identify business entities and processes.
- Designed a Galaxy Schema consisting of 6 Dimension, 6 Fact, and 2 Support tables.
- Built reusable ETL transformations using Power Query.
- Created reusable DAX measures for standardized business KPIs.
- Implemented dynamic Row-Level Security (RLS) for secure data access.
- Developed six executive dashboards for Sales, Products, Customers, Inventory, Campaigns, and Order Operations.
